Chelsea star Diego Costa has been struggling with a hamstring problem recently, but it has been revealed that the striker was also hospitalized with a virus, Sky Sports reports.
The Blues will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United this weekend and manager Jose Mourinho stated his star attacker will not be available after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Spain.
However according to reports the 26-year-old was also ill with a stomach virus these past few days, which required him to stay at a hospital for treatment.
Costa has since been allowed to leave the medical facility, and fans will be eagerly awaiting Mourinho’s pre-match press conference this Friday in which the Portuguese should give an update on the club’s injury list.
The Premier League top scorer’s backup Loic Remy is also struggling with a groin problem, which means Blues legend Didier Drogba is set to lead the line against the Red Devils on Sunday.
