Manchester United are considering a move for former Chelsea and Arsenal star Ashley Cole, Express reports.
The English left-back is currently plying his trade for AS Roma in the Italian Serie A, but Cole could make a return to the Premier League as soon as January.
Sources from Italy suggest that Roma coach Rudi Garcia does not believe Cole fits his high tempo strategy, and has asked whether the club can find a replacement.
The former Gunner has found it difficult to settle to life in Italy after leaving Chelsea on a free during the summer, with the Blues unwilling to extend his contract.
Cole has been claimed to want a move back to his home country, which has alerted Manchester United with manager Louis van Gaal keen to add some competition for 19-year-old wonderkid Luke Shaw.
